18F was helping the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) develop a new web strategy so that they could better serve state and local election officials around the country. The EAC is an independent, bipartisan commission whose mission is to help election officials improve the administration of elections and help Americans participate in the voting process.

This is a critical time for the EAC. Their small, dedicated team supports election officials through training, professional development, and sharing best practices from jurisdictions around the country. The EAC also manages the certification of voting systems and publishes voting system guidelines and system status on eac.gov. Now the EAC is in the process of taking on the management of vote.gov, a trusted source for connecting voters to information about elections and voter registration. (Vote.gov was previously managed by GSA”s Technology Transformation Services.)
